Surf City Marathon Feb. 2018--I'm training to try to BQ. Long-Term Running Goals: I want to keep running marathons into my 70s. Personal: Keep close to Nature's heart...and break clear away, once in awhile, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean. --John Muir
I stole this from Tom's blog because I really like it:
Hudson tidbit: "When it's done right, the long-term training process is like an asymptote. The line that the training process moves toward but never reaches is 'perfect training'.....while it's impossible to train perfectly, it is possible to train better and better." Favorite Blogs: |

Surf City Marathon (26.2 Miles) 04:09:02, Place overall: 938, Place in age division: 44 | | Didn't BQ...again. Was on pace for 17 miles but wasn't in shape enough to go all the way. Really wanted to quit after mile 14, but made myself finish in case I retire from marathoning now. Proud I just finished. And it's not a bad time--my second best. Debating future plans.... |

| | First run after the marathon made me sore again. Felt the lactic acid oozing out of my muscles. Interesting biological observation. |

| | in 1:20. This was the first run I've felt strong on since the marathon 2 weeks ago. I've had ITB issues on the left leg since. Started some leg lifts yesterday to try to strengthen it. Training for a half marathon. Going to train like it's a full and knock out an awesome half PR. |

At 5am again. Didn't have my Garmin and may have turned around too early, so it may have only been 5 or 5 1/2.
Knee nearly shut down this run. Gotta get back on the glucosamine.
